ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Ability to troubleshoot/repair diesel tractors, cryogenic trailers, tube trailers, on-board computers and associated equipment in accordance with Air Liquide policies/procedures and DOT regulations
- Maintain Airgas Priority Nitrogen mobile highway equipment to Department of Transportation (DOT) standards
Ensure brake pads and drums are within DOT and manufacturer specifications and that the brakes are adjusted properly
Perform visual inspection on equipment in the district yard on a daily basis
Perform standard preventative maintenance as per established guidelines set out in the Airgas Priority Nitrogen maintenance schedule
Assist operational personnel with day to day minor repairs and upkeep
Travel as required to repair pumping equipment on work sites and district shops to assist in maintaining equipment
-Reads/interprets equipment condition reports, repair orders; communicates with supervisor/operator for clarification of problems; discusses preventive techniques with operators to minimize future repairs
Report equipment mileage and hours to equipment manager
Assist as required with daily yard work
Ensure the district shop is neat and clean
Ability to learn forklift operation
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
One year experience in highway/ Diesel equipment maintenance
Must have a valid drivers license
Must have their own tools
Must be able to safely operate a pickup truck/company car.
Must be able to maintain, repair and inspect trucks to DOT standards
High school diploma or GED equivalent; additional training such as technical school classes preferred
Class A CDL with HazMat endorsement; DOT brake certification preferred
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Available to work a minimum of 40 hours per week. Hours will be dictated by location needs.
Ability to routinely lift and carry 10 - 40 lbs., and occasionally lift, push and pull 40 - 100 lbs.
Ability to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines.
Requires extensive standing, leaning over, stretching, and lying beneath equipment while repairs are being performed.
Requires occasionally working outside in unfavorable weather conditions.
Requires working with parts and equipment that may be dirty, greasy, wet, hot, and/or cold.
Must be able to operate in a drug-free workplace.
