Job Description

The Corporate Legal Counsel prepares, reviews, negotiates, and advises on legal contracts and agreements between the company and any external or internal vendors/customers. The incumbent researches and analyzes laws and regulations for company clients and provides opinion on legal risks and mitigation associated with the company business activities. The incumbent will be the Legal lead as it relates to Contract Lifecycle Management, developing contract templates, negotiating legal provisions in agreements, and interacting with the Purchasing department and other business units. The incumbent will manage outside counsel where necessary and review legal publications and pending legislation to advise management of changes that impact the company. He/She will provide guidance on compliance matters, work with affiliates in intercompany business issues and provide legal counseling, education, and training as needed. Must be open to learning a variety of areas of law to support business needs as they arise. Support North America Legal Director as needed.

Experience and Education Possesses knowledge of legal subject matter.

JD degree and membership of state bar required (Georgia Bar preferred) with 2-7 years experience as a practicing attorney. Performs work under minimal supervision. Handles medium to complex issues and problems, and refers only the more complex issues to higher-level staff. Knowledge of US and Canadian privacy laws and compliance requirements, such as Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, a plus but not required. Knowledge of dealer or franchise law preferred but not required. Experience at a law firm is preferred but not required.
