The Global Scientific Training Operations Manager role will manage tools and related reporting for the Scientific Training Excellence team, including the scientific training platform and metrics for platform. This role will provide subject matter expertise with respect to business process analysis, platform and reporting requirements to ensure achievement of scientific training goals, focusing on delivering user-focused solutions. The successful candidate will provide analytical, operational, and customer-centered support to GMA stakeholders and other internal team members.
Responsibilities:
* Partner with GMA and BTS (IT) teams to understand specific business needs, assess risks involved and provide scientific training platform subject matter expertise based on current solutions and related IT policies and procedures. Work with BTS (IT) plus external vendors to translate requirements into actionable design/development plans.
* Partner with cross-functional stakeholders. Build/maintain good working relationships with Global Therapeutic Area (TA) and Affiliate business teams. Readily assess and resolve issues, escalating when appropriate.
* Participate in planning and implementation activities related to development of long-term enterprise solution for Scientific Product and TA training.
* Develop and manage designated training projects to ensure that training goals or objectives are accomplished within prescribed time frame and established parameters
* Management of the current scientific training platform (Azure based) and training plans for the Global Medical Affairs team materials
* Assist with uploading assets, creating and deploying training plans, using current platform Succeed
* Familiarity with gamification platforms for training
* Coordination of training activities from external sources into a single training platform system
* Performing consistent, quality and consistency check of training materials, assets and training plans, based on established standards and guidance
* Understanding of and ability to employ scientific training standards across teams
* Coordinate and communicate with cross-functional teams involved in training and maintenance of training platform
* Collaborate with Users and Leadership to define business requirements for system enhancements and develop solutions for analytic needs across multiple applications, ensure accuracy of new/ad hoc reports and metric requests, and evaluate/prioritize change requests/enhancements for implementation.
* Perform testing on system enhancements, bug fixes, and new functionality. Ensure solutions meet business requirements, close gaps or resolve issues and provide updates to users and resources as needed.
* Manage the project timelines and perform gap analysis by conducting Requirement workshops with the business leads and document the requirements.
* Ability to review data from disparate data sources within R&D;, identify commonalities and pull together a single reportable data source for dashboards and reporting.
* Maintain a global perspective and focus on solutions that are easy to access and use, optimizing the employee experience with technology.
* Provide end user technical support for critical Global Scientific Communications & Training Excellence systems and train business resources to effectively onboard new users and reinforce appropriate system utilization.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
* Bachelors degree in a scientific or business field preferred
* More than 5 years of experience in project management or business transformation role, business technology support or technology implementation role; Recommended at least two (2) years of pharmaceutical industry experience; Global Medical Affairs (data analytics/technology or similar) experience preferred
* Experience working with multi-functional groups or project teams
* Excellent self-management and organizational skills; able to manage workload, set personal and team priorities and adjust as needed
* Demonstrated ability to set and execute on strategies with global and cross-functional and departmental impact
* Ability to make a holistic assessment of situations and take appropriate action
* Troubleshoot and execute problem solving with minimal managerial supervision
* Possess solid understanding of the business and applications and demonstrate the ability to develop relevant analytics or system requirements based on the underlying needs
* Excellent written, interpersonal, communication, and relationship building skills.
* Strong knowledge of Microsoft Suite (PowerPoint, Excel and Word)
Preferred Qualifications:
* Functional knowledge of data visualization tools such as Tableau, Spotfire, PowerBI etc. is a plus
* SharePoint experience is a plus
* Experience with Agile Project Management methodologies and related best practices is a plus
* Experience and functional knowledge of Microsoft Azure and/or O365 based applications
