Job Summary
Under general direction, with a high level of autonomy, uses extensive knowledge and skills obtained through education and experience to lead major process improvement initiatives across multiple functional areas to meet organizational efficiency objectives, as well as provide functional support for the financial reporting & accounting systems. Leads major projects, programs or processes with significant business impact involving cross-functional teams. Leads project teams for special projects which may impact multiple business units and oversees with business process improvements and design of system solutions, many of which will have significant financial impact on the entire company. Performs and manages varied work that is difficult in character requiring evaluation, originality and ingenuity. Resolves or recommends solutions to complex problems. Extensive contact with internal customers at all levels, including senior management, is required to identify, research, analyze and resolve complex issues.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Team lead for cross departmental upgrades and implementations across systems and on complex issues.
Consults with management and other process owners to identify and define process improvement and technology solution opportunities.
Develops and presents business cases to senior management and business sponsors.
Prepares and delivers written and oral presentations to senior management.
Supports, maintains, troubleshoots complex issues and administers the primary software systems for the business area.
Works closely with the Information Technology department.
Provides subject matter expertise in financial services operations processes associated with financial accounting & management reporting.
Ensures policies, procedures and regulatory requirements are considered in process reviews and technology solutions.
Leads, coaches, mentors and trains others in using established process improvement and SLDC project management methodology.
Coordinates/Manages the promotion of patches, fixes and upgrades to business systems via the standard testing path of Development, QA and Production, while working with impacted business users to complete thorough UAT and cradle-to-grave testing.
Generates project proposals for managerial review, implements approved proposals, documents and trains users and supports implemented processes.
Leads requirements gathering, project plan preparation, coding, user acceptance testing, documentation and implementation.
Creates complex reporting for the business area using modern reporting & analytics tools.
Maintains currency in process improvement techniques, methodologies and practices.

Educational/Previous Experience Requirements
PeopleSoft Financials ERP experience preferred
Accounting / Finance knowledge required
Accounting / General Ledger Systems experience preferred
Bachelors degree with technical or business specification and 4 to 5 years experience including any combination of the following: systems administration and support, application administration, project management, technical consulting, business process improvement, software upgrade/implementation, systems analysis, general finance or accounting. ~or~
An equivalent combination of education, training or experience.
Licenses/Certifications
PMP certification preferred.
