5.3.13 Assistant/Staff Historian Expectations

5.3.13.1 The Contractor shall conduct independent research in order to answer information requests and prepare articles on historical topics.

5.3.13.2 The Contractor shall assist with the compilation of the Annual Command History.

5.3.13.3 The Contractor shall prepare historical monographs and special historical studies in support of commemorative events and activities.

5.3.13.4 The Contractor shall accession special collections into the Document Collection, prepare collections for digitization, and prepare appropriate finding aids.

5.3.13.5 The Contractor shall conduct oral history interviews and review interview transcripts.

QUALIFICATIONS
At minimum a Bachelor's Degree in History and a firm knowledge and understanding of Military Intelligence and Army history is required to perform the associated duties with limited supervision.

Must have demonstrated historical research and analysis skills, excellent technical and historical writing skills, and experience with standard archival procedures.

Must have the ability to communicate effectively in public for a variety of audiences, including classroom lectures, workshops, seminar presentations, and briefings.

Excellent collaboration skills and project planning experience are preferred.
