Ingredion is seeking a motivated and outgoing student to fill our Food Science/Technical Service Internship for summer 2021. As the Technical Service Intern, you will support key customer activities including solutions development in Dairy, Savory and Bakery applications, and accelerating our new digital customer interaction model, all while collaborating with Sales, Marketing, Applications and Quality teams.
As the Technical Service Intern, your responsibilities will include:
* Understanding how to create value for customers given their technical needs, and identifying how they can improve and expand their product offerings
* Supporting specific customer projects
* Executing well-defined experiments and procedures to prepare food prototypes in the lab or pilot plant. Generating valuable data and making it available to the rest of the group
* Applying product and application know how to identify optimum technology solutions
* Supporting digital transformation initiative (e.g., multi-media content such as How To Videos) via specific internal and customer-facing projects
The Technical Service Intern position is well-suited for you if you are:
* Ambitious, able to prioritize, well organized, good with time management and deadlines
* Collaborative, working well with others
* Creative and very interested in media, digital and content creation; up to date with latest social media platforms and technology
Qualified candidates will have:
* Progress towards a Bachelors Degree in Food Science or a related field with a minimum GPA of at least 3.0/4.0 preferred
* Ability to work 40hrs per week during the summer internship term
* Demonstrated experience with hands-on food concept development formulation laboratory and/or pilot plant equipment
* Knowledge of common food processes, food ingredient functionality and ingredient interactions preferred
* Knowledge of multi-media editing tools and experience with equipment for video content creation; a strong interest in creating media content is a major plus
* Excellent organizational, communication skills
