What you’ll be doing

As the Samsung Certification Quality Engineer, you will be evaluating and certifying products for working on the DISH’s first- and third-party networks for the Samsung device portfolio. You will:

Serve as the certification engineer within the Android Product Development and Device Certification teams, providing deep technical knowledge of Samsung Android product architecture and certification requirements;
Define processes to empower the Samsung Product Development team;
Be part of a larger Retail Wireless Product Development team which validates products from concept through production, working with internal and external customers.

Specifics

Receive, track, and maintain Samsung product test equipment, including compliance tracking for the DISH’s Samsung device test facility;
Download, secure, and catalog all new and regression software releases from Samsung using their secure testing methodology;
Identify and execute applicable test cases for new and regression software loads as provided by Samsung across the entire portfolio of eligible or compatible Samsung devices;
Log and track issues and bugs identified through the course of testing using any Samsung-required defect tracking solution;
Support Samsung Technical Lead with new technology trial execution, as needed;
Provide input into technical approval publication sent to Samsung for each new software release;
Make strong contributions to the product and feature roadmap;
Engage with peers in developing the roadmap for new technologies and capabilities;
Develop test tools, frameworks, and methodologies to deliver best-in-class product solutions;
Provide input into technology roadmap activities.

Requirements

BS or MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) with proficiency in the English language;
3+ years of experience in mobile product certification for Samsung Galaxy line of products including carrier-specific configurations, feature and offering integration, new product introduction, and lifecycle management;
3+ years of experience in Samsung tools and certification capabilities;
1+ years of technical leadership including new feature development and roadmap management;
Prior experience with Samsung product certification and launch is required;
Prior involvement in wireless standards forums is a plus.
