Job Description Summary

National Accounts Finance is seeking a highly motivated Manager to lead our TPA (Third Party Administrator Data Quality team. Under moderate supervision, this individual will be responsible for reviewing and processing excess loss reimbursements and all related activity for the National Accounts unbundled book of business. National Accounts provides large companies with casualty insurance products and services and generates approximately $1B in annual premiums. Strong communication skills as role acts as a liaison between Claims Major Case Unit and National Accounts Finance to ensure appropriate accounting for all aspects of claim payout and reserving. Perform and review financial controls in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements. Responsible for managing the day to day activities of direct reports and for employee development.

Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities

* Requires strong analytical and management skills. Must be able to identify and research unusual items in data from third-party administrators. Must act with urgency and be able to juggle competing priorities.
* Review teams' work for completeness and accuracy; the unit is responsible for sending a high volume/dollar amount of wires and ACH transactions monthly.
* Will be expected to interpret Agreement Letters and Reinsurance Agreements for policy type, limits and retentions; must apply the appropriate limits and retentions to claims in order to calculate excess accurately (this includes calculating corridors, aggregates, basket retentions, etc.; comfort with working with systems as various internal and external (TPA systems will need to be utilized; following up on and monitoring customer bankruptcies; reviewing and signing off on account reconciliations; other duties as necessary.
* Establish work objectives and goals for employees and manage performance. Typically involved in hiring and compensation decisions but does so with direct supervision of more senior level managers.
* Assist in the design, preparation, evaluation and validation of more complex internal and/or external financial and operating reports, both routine and ad-hoc.
* Apply basic accounting and financial concepts and controls to provide subject matter expertise in the development, implementation or enhancement of financial, operations, and business applications.
* Identify, use and train others on appropriate tools to obtain, compile and analyze more complex data necessary to support more advanced financial reports and analysis, and provide input on potential tool utilization enhancements.
* Review and approve complex financial activities for various lines of business including journal entries and account reconciliations.
* Perform and review financial controls in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
* Support supplier management by providing input to manager in assessing risk, reviewing contracts, and monitoring results.
* Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

* Minimum of 3 years of related experience.

Education, Work Experience, & Knowledge

* Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting preferred.
* Typically 4+ years of related experience.
* Formal or Informal experience leading others.
* General knowledge of Financial Analysis concepts, principles and processes.
* General Knowledge: Possesses sufficient knowledge to perform most work in normal situations.
