The LSS Lighting Sales Manager leads a team of statewide Account Executives and support personnel in execution of the strategy to grow lighting sales in Georgia Powers unregulated Lighting and Smart Services business unit. This position will coach, motivate, inspire, and manage the performance and professional development of team members to achieve sales of lighting and related products & services The LSS Lighting Sales Manager fosters an inclusive environment that promotes creativity and intelligent risk-taking to identify and develop new growth opportunities. They communicate with all levels to ensure that Georgia Power surpasses customer expectations to create and sustain customer loyalty. This position also provides support and advice to other departments on lighting issues to ensure overall business effectiveness and profitability.

The LSS Lighting Sales Manager is responsible for developing and executing outdoor lighting sales strategies, goals, and metrics to ensure healthy growth. The LSS Lighting Sales Manager will develop sales goals for their individual team and each account executive, monitor and coach positive sales behaviors, develop and implement sales strategies and techniques to increase profitability and/or improve performance. This position will also coach and develop their account executives to achieve professional growth. This position will provide information and advice to senior management or other peers as well as have direct interaction with business-critical customers on regulated and unregulated lighting questions or topics to ensure overall company effectiveness and profitability. This individual may also represent Georgia Power at regional or national utility and industry committee meetings. Additional responsibilities include support of external activities, including storm restoration duties, as needed.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education and Experience

* Management experience is preferred

* Sales experience and leadership inside and/or outside Southern Company is preferred

* Bachelors or advanced degree in marketing, finance, or related field is preferred

* Demonstrated results motivating team to achieve success preferred

* Demonstrated track record of success in jobs of diverse responsibilities

* Experience working in the lighting industry is a plus

* Region, External, and/or Electric Utility Distribution engineering and/or construction experience is a plus

* Experience and proficiency using Microsoft suite of products (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.) required

MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Lead a statewide team of Lighting Account Executives and analysts to establish and maintain strong customer relationships in a cost-effective and profitable manner

* Develop and hold Sales team members accountable for participating in training and development activities that contribute to their growth as Lighting Account Executives

* Develop and implement a lighting sales strategy that delivers net income growth while maintaining Georgia Power's industry-leading customer value levels

* Lead sales and account management efforts of the team, calling on high potential and critical clients

* Lead the development and assignment of annual sales goals based on market analysis and profitability

* Ensure resources are allocated properly to achieve goals

* Achieve goals associated with profitable lighting sales, products, programs, and services

* Manage complex lighting sales, escalated calls, and contract renegotiations

* Manage complex issues to ensure compliance with state laws and PSC orders

* Coordinate with various departments, such as Engineering, Billing, Distribution, Customer Service, Metering, Economic Development, Pricing and Rates, and Customer Choice to accomplish sales strategy and goals

* Communicate with all levels to ensure that Georgia Power surpasses customer expectations

* Provide feedback to upper management on customer perspectives to help guide policies, practices, and initiatives

* Lead and/or participate in strategic external involvement efforts with key customers, segments, vendors, and/or industry allies to create or sustain profitable sales

* Serve on company and system committees that focus on various business improvement initiatives as needed

* Must be available to work assigned storm duty, which could include evenings, weekends, holidays, and overnight travel

* Be responsible for personal development to maintain skills necessary to reach long and short-term goals
