Summary
This Production Team Leader is an operations leadership position responsible for assisting the shift supervisor in the effective execution of Operational Excellence in Safety, People, Quality, Service, and Cost in managing department/shift operations.
Major Tasks Include:
Coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality for products to ensure they meet specifications
Make thoughtful decisions and recognize defective equipment or substandard product and utilize appropriate resources to resolve
Revises production schedules and priorities as a result of equipment failure, operating problems, personnel, etc.
Maintain accurate documentation on each associates progress including, but not limited to: weekly performance evaluations, new hire onboarding, position training matrix, other training as necessary
Coordinate with Shift Supervisors and experienced operators to act as trainers for new hires
Coordinate with Shift Supervisors and experienced operators to cross-train associates as necessary for development opportunities and to fill future open positions.
Administer and coordinate new employee orientation and on-boarding programs, capturing feedback on processes
Develop and update training materials, including new procedures, as necessary
Support site safety programs, implement new safety procedures, and recommend safety improvements
Act as Shift Supervisor when necessary
Participation towards completion of other related tasks and duties as directed or needed
Basic Qualifications:
Must have the legal right to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship now or in the future for employment visa status
Must be at least 18 years of age
Must be able to work overtime with or without reasonable accommodation
Must have one year of experience in a manufacturing, operations or distribution environment
Must be available to working alternate shift patterns
Must have experience using MS Office Products (Word, Excel, Power Point, or Access)
Other Qualifications:
Previous supervisory experience
Experience with continuous improvement tools such as Six Sigma, 5-S, Lean Manufacturing, Transactional Lean, etc.
