Job Summary:

We are looking for a dynamic, creative, and passionate individual to join our consumer marketing group. This individual will be part of a transformational journey and reimagine a new world of enjoyment for Adult Nicotine Consumersa Better Tomorrow! We are seeking a proven leader and social media native to join as our Social Media Director. A big and innovative thinker with the power to drive not only strategy but also all the operations. The candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and can manage multiple projects, stakeholders at once.

As the Social Media Director, you should have a deep understanding of the social media landscape; possess the vision to continuously develop the social media practice; and be the leader who motivates, develops, and manages a high-performing team! You will work collaboratively across our activation, brand, insights, and global teams. This individual will also be responsible for our social AOR management, processes, budgets, and yearly plans. The ideal candidate thinks futuristically on ways to innovate how we use social media to build our communities, drive deeper loyalty, activate our fan base, and drive commercial outcomes. Reporting to the Sr. Director- Digital Strategy & Consumer Experience, you will play a key role within our consumer marketing organization, as the social media subject matter expert for the company.

Principle Duties & Responsibilities:

* Strategize and execute social media programs from always-on to innovative first-to-market initiatives
* Monitor trends and innovation across social media platforms
* Build and implement strategy for our new category brands (Vuse & Velo) main social handles across all platforms
* Collaborate with the internal teams including eCommerce, sponsorships, CRM and category to support their respective missions through content with consistent and relevant brand voice
* Drive the overarching social strategy across the paid, earned, managed & owned outputs, in collaboration with the media & public relations teams
* Develop clear & efficient content pipelines connected to each of our brands programs
* Lead approach for content curation, scheduling, distribution, promotion and custom measurement; facilitate collaboration on content generation across multiple functional pillars
* Develop strategies to stimulate and leverage UGC to build our brands
* Build strong communities of brand advocates
* Review and approve relationships with social media agencies and content partners
* Lead & evolve social media processes and success measurement
* Review, maintain, and evolve social media standards & share best-practices globally
* Drive rules of engagement for working with internal teams that require social media support
* Monitor trends and innovation across social media platforms; investigate and evaluate tools and services against business goals
* Advance strategies to convert social reach into engaging experiences
* Work with market intelligence & insights teams locally & globally to set measurement principles to direct impactful use of social media and spend on paid campaigns; Lead input on criteria for analysis to understand impact/ensure ROI
* Identify and establish metrics of success for social networks; responsible for delivering against success metrics; responsible for educating, evangelizing and ensuring adoption of metrics of success
* Work closely (and in partnership) with our legal and regulatory teams to ensure social media practices are aligned to category regulations; ability to think creatively against our regulated environment

Required Skills and Experience:

* 10+ years of social media, digital marketing, and/or platform partnership experience
* Bachelors degree, MBA preferred
* Proven track record in strategic planning and management of digital/social content
* Creative thinker and innovator, in touch with Millennials and Gen Z
* Use logic, market research and data to drive strategy
* Ability to influence others and gain buy-in at the team, peer, and executive level
* Exceptional communication and presentation skills
* Demonstrated ability to manage simultaneous projects in a fast-paced environment
* Must be able to work independently and collaboratively (team oriented) with an enthusiastic attitude
* Problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and a functional level
* Inspirational team leader; 2 direct reports and a total team of 6

Preferred Skills/Experience:

* Prior experience in CPG with an eye for leveraging social media for conversion is a huge plus
* Previous experience within regulated industries and/or categories
* Diverse experience with digital content formats
* Understanding of new and emerging video platforms (YouTube, Facebook, Snapchat, Twitch, etc.)
* Expertise with social listening and community management tools, e.g. BrandWatch, Sprinklr, Pulsar, Sprout, etc.
* Paid social knowledge
