Responsibilities
Salt Lake Behavioral Health is seeking a dynamic and talented Women's Military Unit Nurse Manager. We are a private, freestanding, 118- bed, acute psychiatric hospital; specializing in mental health and chemical dependency. We provide a wide range of services and programs that offer evidence-based treatment proven to have positive outcomes for our patients. Our inpatient and day hospital, or outpatient services offer supportive and compassionate care through specialty programs that are tailored to meet the needs of our patients.
The Women's Military Psychiatric Unit Manager is responsible for ensuring coordinated delivery of patient care and assumes responsibility for entire Women's Military unit in accordance with the established standards of care, mental health practice and hospital policy, goals and objectives. This position assists in contributing to the hospital's philosophy, objectives, educational and performance & improvement efforts, while providing supervision to the nursing staff assigned to his/her unit. In addition, the unit manager is expected to serve in the role of House Supervisor or staff nurse, should staffing needs require. This position will also be responsible for the discharge and aftercare planning of the patients in our care that are unfunded, or have Medicare/Medicaid insurance.
Qualifications
Position Requirements:
* Education: Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing required or equivalent combination of education and experience in psychiatric nursing management; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
* Experience: A minimum of three (3) years' experience in a psychiatric health-care facility working with this population is preferred.
* Licensure: Currently licensed to practice by the Utah State Board of Nursing
* Additional Requirements: Thorough knowledge of Joint Commission, HCFA, OSHA requirements, and state and federal regulatory requirements. CPR certification and successful completion of training in Management of Aggressive Behavior (Mandt) within 90 days of employment, and prior to assisting in restraining procedures.
