Responsibilities
JOIN OUR HEARTLAND TEAM AND HELP US CHANGE LIVES!
Completes prep work, sets-up meals on units, fills dietary requirements for floor supplies. Participates in serving proper portions to the patients on serving lines. Completes cleaning assignments, dishwashing and pots/pans washing on a timely basis.
Provides nutritional services to both patients and staff. Must have good customer service skills.
Must adhere to cleaning schedules and duties daily and weekly.
Accepts supervision and training opportunities.
Follows infection controll procedures
Assists in preparation and serving of food to both patients and staff.
Hours of operation are 5 AM - 8 PM - schedules and hours will vary and will include weekend work
Qualifications
1. Physical Requirements: A wide range of motor activity is required in performing job responsibilities. The majority of activity will be long periods of standing, walking, bending, and lifting as necessary in the office setting. Ability to ascent and descent stairs in a timely fashion and sit long periods of time sorting paperwork and keyboarding.
2. Mental/Visual/Auditory: Concentration and attention to detail are necessary to evaluate the job duty. Ability to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position. Must be able to see and hear, or use prosthetics that will enable the senses to function adequately to ensure that the requirements of the position may be fully met.
3. Environment: The environment is an enclosed building subject to occasional inconveniences such as heating, cooling, ventilation and noise disturbances. Out of the building situations may occur.
4. Tools/Equipment Used: Daily use of kitchen appliances and utensils.
Considerable knowledge of ingredients, materials, methods and equipment used in preparation of food; and the care and cleaning of kitchen utensils and equipment. Knowledge of health, safety and sanitary requirements of food preparation and serving. A minimum of two years experience in large scale commercial and institutional food preparation preferred.
