Position Summary:

Responsible for improvement of business processes and support of critical business strategies by managing the design, development, implementation, integration, and maintenance of data integration and ETL workloads leveraging cloud-based technologies and services, with a sharp emphasis on data conversion and migration. Coordinate with both business users and software developers to integrate new processes with existing ones and to influence continued process improvement supported by technology throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Relying on broad knowledge and judgment, the Senior Data Engineer is accountable for the following responsibilities:

* Designing and deploying dynamically scalable, available, fault-tolerant, and reliable data migration workloads on the Cloud
* Selecting appropriate Cloud services to design and deploy a workload based on given requirements.
* Migrating complex, multi-tier applications on Cloud Platforms.
* Mentor and provide guidance to development team(s) on cloud solutions
* Develop work plans, establish timelines, and set goals for assigned work unit.
* Assign resources as needed.
* Meet commitments on deadlines.
* Communicate team or group results to management and make appropriate recommendations.
* Prepare written and verbal presentations to convey information.
* Drive improvement in existing business processes and assist in the identification and implementation of new processes.
* Assist in development and is accountable for budget for work unit.
* Work within financial objectives set by management.
* Comply with all corporate policies and procedures.
* Identify control objectives for designated function and implement cost effective controls designed to meet those objectives.
* Test controls to determine if they are performing as intended.

Requirements:

* BS in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or similar technical discipline, or commensurate/equivalent industry experience
* 6+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, with progressive professional experience in the automation of data workloads
* 4+ years of experience with .NET Framework/Core data application development (C preferred), with a familiarity in the migration of .NET Framework code to .NET Core
* 2+ years of public-cloud experience (AWS preferred), with experience with API development/management, use of serverless technologies like Lambda, API Gateway, Docker/ECS/Kubernetes, and cloud-based database services like RDS
* 2+ years of experience managing data in SQL Server (preferred), Postgres, or Oracle
* Experience creating/managing data workloads using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS or similar
* Experience with Python 3.6+, Windows Powershell, and/or Java
* Experience supporting business teams or other stakeholders, and functioning as a technical liaison
* Experience implementing enterprise-level data security measures
* Experience working on an Agile team
* (Preferred) Casualty insurance industry experience
* (Preferred) Cloud (AWS preferred) certification
* Excellent written and verbal communications skills with an emphasis on confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy
* Exceptional organizational and analytical skills; demonstrated ability to manage
