Position Summary
Provides direct social work services to patients and families. The position requires knowledge of developmental stages as services can be and are provided to infant, child, adolescent, adult and geriatrics populations. The position also requires knowledge of cultural influences in response to illness as there is cultural diversity in the population served. Promotes professional and ethical philosophy consistent with the hospital s mission statement and the National Association of Social Workers code of ethics.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION:
* Possess a Masters Degree in Social Work (MSW) from a graduate school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE).
* MSW graduate education focus in Health Care, or minimum one year acute hospital experience as an MSW level clinical social worker.
Preferred:
* Strongly prefer at least one to two years acute hospital experience as a clinical social worker-MSW level.
