We are seeking a dynamic Software Developer to join our Sustainable Automation Solutions Research Group and support our Siemens business units and end customers in the US. The right person will have a strong technical background in IT and OT technologies and a passion for working with customers and solving challenges in manufacturing industries with innovative solutions! Additionally, this role has flexibility to be 100% remote, so if you are comfortable working virtually so are we!
The Challenge
In the role as Software Developer, you will
* Develop applications for the Siemens Industrial Edge platform and devices tailored to industrial manufacturing challenges
* Develop sophisticated, high-performance software applications (C++ / C/ Java / Python)
* Utilize cutting edge research findings and technologies to address industry challenges
* Design, implement, test, optimize, and document software components
* Assess technical feasibility of potential customer co-creation projects
* Perform sophisticated hardware and/or software design consultation in accordance with customer/project needs
* Complete technical solution co-creation for the development and implementation of customer solutions
* Collaborate with appropriate groups for sophisticated domestic and international projects
The Candidate
Qualified candidates will have:
* BS in Computer Science / Electrical Engineering / related fields. MS is a plus.
* 5+ years of research experience in software engineering field with programming skills in C / C++ / Python
* Knowledge of docker, and preferably Kubernetes
* Proficiency in common software development processes and architectures
* Research and implement appropriate ML algorithms and tools
* Real-world problem solving and a hands-on, can-do attitude
* Excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication (verbal & written) skills
* Ability to independently execute proof of concepts and customer projects
