Security Guard
JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary
The Security Guard provides safety for the employees and the company by monitoring the facility and handling any disturbances which may incur any physical or financial loss under the supervision and direction of the Security Manager.
Essential Functions
Reasonable accommodations may be provided to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
1. Patrols and monitors for any theft or violence in the facility
2. Observes each person entering and exiting the facility, preventing entry of unauthorized people
3. Checks the luggage/belongings and/or vehicle of any person entering or exiting the facility
4. Maintains a log book with details including name, entry/exit times of each visitor
5. Directs traffic of vehicles in and around the facility, also checking to ensure vehicles are parked properly and have the required parking permit
6. Enforces all rules and regulations, warning violators of possible consequences and reporting any suspicious behavior
7. Performs video surveillance to check for any criminal activity
Work Environment
Combination of work at a desk inside an office/building and outside observing employees and visitors enter/exit the facility, as well as patrolling parking lots and other areas surrounding the facility. It is common to be exposed to the elements (heat, rain, etc.) while working in this position. May enter the plant area on occasion where temperatures can be anywhere from below 40 degrees Fahrenheit to over 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
