Manager, Quality Assurance
The primary and overall responsibility of the Quality Assurance Manager is to lead and manage the Quality Assurance Department to ensure consumer safety and the production of high-quality, food safe products at the lowest cost, while meeting the demands of our customers. The value of products manufactured is about $300 million, with the complexity of multiple technologies like Low Acid Aseptic, Plant based Dairy, and Juice Operations.
Job Responsibilities
* Ensure safety of all personnel within the department, and the food safety of all manufactured products.
* Develop and drive for progress around key quality and food safety objectives that are aligned with Company Objectives
* Budget responsibility for all inventories of Juices, Concentrates and all critical ingredients.
* Juice processing and blending in an empowered blending environment.
* Ensure accuracy and efficiency of batching and all QA testing and record-keeping. Ability to develop performance-based specification adjustments as a result of seasonal ingredient fluctuations is required.
* Microbiological experience to ensure testing capability and use of data for root cause analysis.
* Select, supervise, and develop Quality Assurance personnel
* Monitor and enforce proper sanitation and housekeeping procedures
* Monitor all Coca-Cola, Federal and State communications/audits and implement any necessary changes
* Assist operations management with process equipment and product/package troubleshooting and innovation.
* Ability to analyze, trend and extrapolate data from multiple sources for process improvement.
* Proactive involvement with Commercialization projects
* Proactive involvement with Waste Elimination (ZERO Waste focus) projects
* Collaborate with operations and sales management to improve Coca-Cola quality indices
* Establish, submit, and ensure attainment of the yearly departmental budget
* Ensure site compliance with all company, applicable regulatory, and other policies and procedures.
Function Related Activities / Key responsibilities:
* Working knowledge of the principles of manufacturing management.
* Working knowledge of specific supply chain capabilities, strategies and interdependencies.
* Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally and coordinate efforts around process improvement.
* Working knowledge of national, state, and local regulatory requirements in the areas of food safety, safety, environment and emergency management.
* Working knowledge of basic elements of Good Manufacturing Practices in a manufacturing environment -CFR21
* Working knowledge of key business drivers used to gauge the effectiveness and performance of an internal group or supplier.
* HACCP

* Good Laboratory Practices
* Proficiency in MS Office Suite applications
Job Requirements
* 7-10 years food/beverage manufacturing or production experience in a Leadership or Management role.
* Working knowledge of Juice, Dairy, and Low Acid Aseptic Operations
* Working knowledge of food safety
* ISO (22000, 9000, 14001, etc.) or other management system
* Internal auditing, with an emphasis on driving for Management System effectiveness, through Health checks and targeted auditing
* HACCP Coordinator Certification
* Better Process School Certification
* PCQI Certification desired
* Laboratory process management
* Lean or Six Sigma certification preferred
* Continuous Improvement, with specific emphasis on problem solving and CAPA management
* Project Management
* Manage P&L; Spending Controls
* Self-Guided Work Force
* Change Management
* Leader of leaders, with an emphasis on driving for results through teams, urgency and ownership
* Experience using relevant SAP applications
* Microsoft Office
Education & Experience
* Bachelors Degree in Quality Engineering, Technical or Food Science Discipline Preferred
* 7-10 years food/beverage manufacturing or production experience
* Prior Quality Assurance Leadership or Management experience
* Experience with Dairy Operations
* Experience with Low Acid Aseptic Operations
* Knowledge of Thermal Food and/or Beverage Processing Techniques
