Work Hours/Shift: Full Time Days

You Will Be Responsible For:

* Demonstrates thorough understanding of Advent Healths core values of Quality and Service Excellence, Community Wellbeing, High Ethical Standards, Stewardship and Inclusiveness as outlined in the organizations performance Excellence Program.
* Verbalizes knowledge of Hearing Impairment High Risk Factors.
* Utilizes proper equipment for the screening situation and sets it up for maximum efficiency in the workspace. Completes a weekly inventory to maintain adequate supplies for screenings, as observed by the Nurse Manager.
* Performs Infant Hearing Screen and correctly reports infant screening results to the Nurse Manager. Upon failure of a baby on the initial hearing screening, calls outpatient center and sets appointment for follow-up testing.
* Charges patients accurately for services according to the guidelines of the CPT code format and Price File following department guidelines.
* Demonstrates knowledge of growth and development for assigned patient age population
* Participates in practice changes as a result of performance improvements activities. Supports quality standards and initiatives set by the department.
* Willingly adjusts to changes in workload by altering work hours to assist at other locations as approved and observed by the Nurse Manager.
* Practices principles of standard precautions and body mechanics when working with patients and performing daily job activities as observed by the Nurse Manager.

Qualifications
What You Will Need:

* Demonstration of entry level professional competency and commitment to patient-oriented practice.
* A desire to learn and upgrade clinical skills.
* Basic computer skills to include Outlook and Microsoft Word.
* High School Diploma
* BLS Certification
* Hearing Screener Competency

Job Summary:

The Infant Hearing Screener is an individual, who under the supervision of the Mother Baby Unit manager is responsible for:

* Performing infant hearing screenings on all newborns according to the guidelines of the Universal Hearing Screening program.
* Adhering to Advent Health Corporate Compliance Plan and to all rules and regulations of all applicable local, state and federal agencies, and accrediting bodies.
* Actively participating in outstanding customer service and accepting responsibility of maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
