You Will Be Responsible For:
Demonstrates behaviors at Adventist University of Health Sciences in harmony with the Four Words Nurture, Excellence, Spirituality, and Stewardship.
* Understands and effectively communicates basic Library policies and procedures.
* Provides support for Library staff.
* Provides assistance with special assignments and projects.
* Shelves books, magazines, and multimedia.
* Aids in the processing of books; affixes labels and barcodes, stamps property stamp, checks alarm system.
* Provides shelf maintenance; dusts, straightens, shifts books, labels shelves.
* Assists with copy card system, prints and copies materials.
* Assists patrons with basic reference questions, database searching, Library catalog and article retrieval.
Qualifications
What You Will Need:
Required:
* Current acceptance as an AHU student
* Excellent customer service skills
* Proficiency with Excel and Microsoft Word
* Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity skills
* Ability to be enthusiastic
Preferred:
* Intermediate Computer Skills
* Prior Library experience
Job Summary:
The Student Worker Library responds courteously to requests for service and assistance from the circulation desk. Serves as the first point of contact for users and greets patrons. Performs duties, including but not limited to, database searches, general office work and data entry. Assists patrons with reference requests. Aids staff with daily and routine library operations. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
