Abbott Diagnostics has an opportunity for a Principal Research and Development Quality Engineer based in Abbott Park, Illinois.
WHAT YOULL DO:
Work with dynamic cross-functional teams developing and maintaining in-vitro diagnostic products for use in hospital and centralized reference laboratories worldwide. Assure safe and reliable products by providing analytics supporting robust design and manufacturing. Lead colleagues and teams to resolve complex technical challenges by leveraging diverse product experience and adapt accordingly to deliver novel solutions aligned to business. Responsible for continual improvement of processes, training, and infrastructure and management, development, and deployment of resources.
Main Responsibilities include:
* Analyzes, evaluates, and plans methods of approach to and organizes a means to achieve the solution of complex technical problems.
* Conducts investigations of considerable complexity.
* Conceives and plans projects to explore product or process risks; defines and selects new concepts and approaches to deliver robust designs, products, or processes.
* Provides ongoing consultation to CFT; interacts effectively with SME's to assure objectives are achieved efficiently. Understands the business both externally and internally and provides solutions that are aligned with customers' needs and constraints.
* Reviews, generates, and approves quality engineering and / or system performance analytics deliverables.
* Reviews project progress and evaluates results.
* Recommends resource allocations required for the completion and implementation of technical projects.
* Interfaces with product, manufacturing, quality, and medical affairs team members and management. Interfaces with senior management for product and project tasks.
* Communicates with external partner decision makers and senior leadership, and other professional experts.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOULL BRING
Qualifications:
* Bachelors degree in a science, statistics, engineering discipline or ASQ Quality Engineering certification with 6 to 10 years work related development experience and 2 to 4 years of Quality Engineering specific experience.
