JOB DESCRIPTION:

Program Manager (New Product Development) St. Paul (Little Canada), MN

In Abbotts Electrophysiology and Heart Failure (EPHF) division, were advancing the treatment of heart and vascular disease through breakthrough medical technologies in electrophysiology and heart failure, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives.

As Medical Device Program Manager, you will lead cross-functional product development teams. This position will manage one or more multi-year projects developing new products for Abbott's cardiac ablation business, including cardiac mapping systems and tools, software applications, and catheters. The role will lead all aspects of new product development from project creation to commercialization to meet agreed upon milestones and deliverables. The position will represent the program to the organization, report core team progress, communicate program recommendations, risks, and resolution of issues to senior leadership.

Job Duties:

* Lead cross-functional core teams and development activities to meet program objectives including scope, budget, and schedule. Core responsibilities include:

* Project planning and contracting

* Budget planning

* Resource planning

* Regular executive status updates

* Project financial metrics such as budget, COGS, and capital

* Creating and maintaining schedules

* Communicate with all levels of the organization the objectives, risks, and needs for the program.

* Identify opportunities for improving overall business performance of the program.

* Develop plans with core members to eliminate and/or mitigate risk. If risks cannot be mitigated within the core team, determine appropriate means to communicate and elevate issues to appropriate individuals within the organization.

* Maintain positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.

* Maintain a safe and professional work environment.

* Establish and maintain the program and product Design History File.

* Comply with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOULL BRING

Required Qualifications

* Bachelors degree in Engineering or Science discipline

* 5+ years of experience leading projects in a medical device, biomedical or high technology industry

* 8+ years of medical device experiences

* Fluency in MS office applications and MS Project

Preferred Qualifications

* MBA

* 3 years of experience directly managing technical staff

* Extensive medical device industry experience

* Program/Project Management certifications

* Experience working in a broader enterprise/cross division business unit model
