We're looking for an outstanding Sr. Applied Scientist who combines superb technical, research, and software capabilities with a demonstrated ability to get the right things done quickly and effectively. This person must be comfortable working with a team of top-notch developers and collaborating with our science and software teams.

In this role you will develop flight control algorithms, implement software, and test closed-loop performance for the Prime Air drone. The ideal candidate will have fundamental knowledge of simulation, dynamics, aerodynamics, design and analysis with practical real-life implementation experience.

Export Control License
This position may require a deemed export control license for compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Placement is contingent on s ability to apply for and obtain an export license on your behalf.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Strong Mathematical/Statistical and applied physics fundamentals.
Experience with feedback controls, guidance algorithms, aerodynamics analysis, and/or flight code development.
5+ years relevant experience as a Research Scientist, Applied Scientist, Engineer, or a related occupation
Masters, PhD, or advanced degree equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Science, Aeronautics, Robotics or related field.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience with hardware/software integration and real-time mission-critical applications that have been successfully delivered to customers at scale.
Knowledge of engineering practices & patterns for the full life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source management, processes, testing, and certification.
Ability to take a project from scoping requirements through actual launch and SLA-driven operations of the project.
Experience in communicating with customers, technical, regulatory, business teams and management to collect requirements, describe product features, and technical designs.
