The Connected Customer and Mobility Solutions organization develops, in an Agile/SAFe environment, the technologies enabling a new generation of connected vehicles worldwide. This includes call centers located in multiple countries backed by two world class data centers. Our technology is a key enabler to things like smarter car sharing programs, driver customization opportunities, and advanced active safety systems including autonomous driving. These capabilities exist through the largest implementation of 4G LTE in the automotive industry which enables the capture of extensive amount of vehicle data to our Big Data platform. Our innovation teams are driving game changing technology to the consumer and the automotive industry.

Who You Are

Simply put, we need an OTA Architect to join our team. If you are an ambitious and creative person who will contribute to the ongoing evolution of GMs OTA processes and ecosystems, then we need you! GM has launched frameworks that allow to reflash all modules with in GM vehicles. This provides us with a secure and controlled, relevant, customizable and seamlessly integrated automotive Infotainment ecosystem. This position will provide you with the opportunity to work on architecting applications and components for the next generation of this ecosystem.

What You Do

* Work closely with business partners and engineers throughout the entire product development lifecycle to define and craft the OTA experience.
* Collaborate with architects on interconnected systems to propose additions and changes enabling new ground breaking uses to re-define the customer and driving experience.
* The position will be a member of the architecture team that has accountability for the development of the OTA back office.
* Cross-team collaboration to define a well-organized system of components and applications to achieve business and consumer deliverables.

Additional Job Description

What You Need

* Bachelors degree in a technical field such as Computer Science or Engineering
* At least 8 years experience in information technology developing and architecting highly available, sophisticated, distributed, micro service-based, service-oriented, event-driven architecture solutions for an enterprise including 3 years of JEE programming experience.
* Experienced in designing, analyzing and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems in cloud, non-cloud as well as hybrid environments
* Knowledge of and desire to participate in a SAFe Agile development environment
* Experience with high availability technologies that include virtualization, cloud computing, load balancing, clustering, massively horizontally scalable architectures, hosted services, multi-tenant cloud infrastructures, storage systems and content delivery networks.
* Experience architecting customer facing APIs
* Expected to have a strong working knowledge of general architectural patterns, technologies and architecture management processes.
* Experience with failure mode and effects analysis
* Experience with security architectures and designs.
* Working hands-on knowledge of application design and development, and proven DDD patterns
* Creative problem solving skills coupled with effective communication and translation of feedback, needs, and solutions
* Must have strong teamwork orientation

What Would Be Even Better

* Experience with Over the Air Frameworks and Tools.
* Experience in developing portable machine learning applications that deploy within containers is big plus
* Experience in designing and implementing applications using frameworks like Axon that implements Domain Driven Design, Event sourcing and CQRS patterns
* Expertise in design and development of Java 8, Spring Boot and Spring Cloud applications
* Experience in designing and implementing applications using frameworks like AKKA in building highly concurrent, distributed, and resilient message-driven applications
* TOGAF or other technical certifications desirable
