In this job, youll will support Aircraft Operations by inspecting aircraft mechanical and structural equipment on a pre-flight, periodic, and planned maintenance basis to detect possible malfunction and to assure safe operation of company aircraft. A day in the life - Get ready to think big, work smart and shine bright!

* Inspect, maintain, and repair company aircraft on pre-flight, periodic, and planned basis.
* Disassemble and re-assemble airframe, turbine engines and other components on planned maintenance schedule or to determine cause of malfunction and overhaul/repair/replace parts as required to maintain aircraft in airworthy condition.
* Use electronic vibration equipment to trouble-shoot and track and dynamically balance airframe and engine components.
* Installs special accessories and attachments for cargo handling, transportation of equipment and external loads.
* Inspect and repair aircraft during field operations. Must control the landing zone. Must be able to perform or advise field crews on work methods and safety procedures for material handling and take-off and landing.
* May be required to guide helicopters with either hand signals or radio communications. Must be able to reposition fuel vehicles and support aircraft as required during field operations as well at home base. May be required to spend a week or more support helicopter operations in the field.
* Provide information and recommendations related to safety and airworthiness of aircraft for dispatch and landing. Ensure helicopter and landing zone are in compliance with established safety requirements.
* Ability to adapt to changing work conditions with little or no advance warning.
* Purchases and receives inventory supplies from vendors. Remove product from inventory for use, document removal and ensure replacements are ordered.
* Understanding of the actions, values and behaviors that constitute a strong safety culture.

Qualifications
The essentials

* High school graduate
* Current FAA Airframe and Powerplant certificate per CFR Title 14 Part 65
* Five (5) or more years of experience working on turbine powered helicopters

The preferred

* Valid California Class A Haz Mat Tanker Drivers License
* Experience using radio and hand signals as related to helicopter operations
* Experience with maintenance and repair of Airbus Helicopters model AS350, EC135 and Bell Helicopter models 205/212/412/429.
* Previous experience with purchasing, receiving, and maintaining inventory and supplies related to aircraft operations
* Previous experience fueling aircraft including Hot Refueling
* Ability to solve technical and operational problems with an exacting margin of safety

* Position will require at least 30% (or more) traveling and being out in the field throughout the SCE service territory as well as out of state.
