Become a Manager of Vegetation Management Operations at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, youll lead a team of approximately 8 Specialists and Senior Specialists and be responsible for ensuring compliance to all rules, regulations, and standards for SCEs vegetation management programs including:
* Annual Compliance
* Dead, Dying, and Diseased
* Bark Beetle
* Weed abatement
* Pole and Tower Clearing
* Hazard Tree Management Program
* Right-of-way clearing
* Management of VMs contribution to wildfire mitigation
Additionally, you will be responsible for assisting in the strategic direction, continuous improvement, benchmarking, risk management, and adaptation of the department to the ever-changing regulatory landscape. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and maintaining strong working relationships with Federal, State, local governmental agencies, and SCEs customer base throughout the Edisons Eastern and Rurals Districts.

* Lead the safe execution of all vegetation related activities in the areas of pre-inspection, pruning, felling, and post-work verification for the assigned work area.
* Manage a direct staff of approximately 8 Specialists and Senior Specialists and a portion of the external contractor workforce.
* Support T&D at the District and Region levels.
* Establish and manage performance expectations and goals which align with Company objectives, values, and guiding behaviors.
* Develop a diverse staff by engaging 1-on-1 with each team member and providing timely feedback, coaching, and support.
* Responsible for the annual compliance pre-inspection and trim schedules.
* Maintain interaction with local customers, agencies, and governmental representatives to address concerns and explain program details.
* Manage public safety and reliability of the system associated with vegetation risks.
* Manage, train and develop staff; provide timely feedback, mentor and support.
* Travel to field locations with both internal employees and contractor crews.
Qualifications
The Essentials
* Five years of combined experience leading an organization, unit, or group.
* Experience directly performing or supervising vegetation management activities.
* Valid US Drivers License.
The Preferred
* Bachelors degree
* Knowledge of CPUC GO 95 Rule 35, PRC 4292 & 4293 and environmental habitat areas.
* Knowledge of NERC/WECC/ISO regulations.
* Experience performing inspections or other compliance related activities.
* Experience training and providing direction to junior/new team members.
* Experience presenting to senior and executive level management.
* Proficiency with MS Suite of products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
* Ability to provide exceptional service to internal and external customers and partners.
* Experience developing and implementing strategic plans and facilitating forums to capture the requirements of business strategy.
* Demonstrated ability to create a positive high-performance work environment.
