Become a Senior Manager, HR Business Partner at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, youll provide strong intermediate leadership between the HRBP, Principal Manager (PM) and assigned HR Business Partner team that promotes and ensures effective partnership and support of Operating Units (OUs,) strong partnership and collaboration with internal Centers of Excellence (COE) partners, and the delivery of high-value, high-impact work that is aligned with OU business strategies, as well as our multi-year HR Roadmap.

You will also provide broad oversight and guidance for all HR life cycle programs and processes, as well as the day-to-day people needs of the business, while also ensuring the development and implementation of people initiatives that align with each assigned OUs strategic plan. You will accomplish this work through effective senior-level relationships as you partner and engage with assigned OU leadership in support of their strategic people initiatives and related needs.

A day in the life - Get ready to think big and work smart!

* Manages and leads assigned HRBP team through day-to-day guidance and direction, assistance with priority management and escalated issues, timely cascading and solicitation of information, as well as proactively setting expectations, providing real-time feedback, and managing overall performance to ensure a high performing team.
* Partners and collaborates with Organizational Unit (OU) leadership and HRBP Principal Manager (PM) to develop high-impact people strategies aligned with OU strategic plans; translates people strategies into tactical initiatives for implementation through HRBP team; oversees and ensures the effective execution of plans.
* Acts as an advisor and thought partner to OU leadership and the HRBP team, providing guidance and direction on people and organizational issues.
* Coaches on conflict resolution; reviews and oversees OU work environment matters and leads coordination of actions.
* Proactively ensures HR service deliverables are executed on and serves as a facilitator and coordinator to get to resolution on related issues and concerns.
* Partners and collaborates with HR Centers Of Excellence (COE) partners to help ensure appropriate alignment, integration and successful implementation of highly effective HR processes and programs, including: employee relations, labor relations, talent planning, succession planning, employee engagement, compensation administration, workforce planning, recruiting (why recruiting versus talent acquisition?), leader and employee development, organization design, change management, performance management, diversity and inclusion, and strategy.
* Proactively influences the development, evolution, refinement, implementation, and/or applicable standardization of aligned HR solutions.
* Provides guidance and oversight of HRBP team to ensure adherence and compliance to HR policies and practices and to meet requirements of applicable HR, employment and other applicable laws and ordinances.
* Coaches on conflict resolution; reviews and oversees OU work environment matters and leads coordination of actions.
* In alignment with Principal Manager, ensures the continuous development of individual and collective team competencies and capabilities, as needed.
* Interviews, hires, onboards, develops, and retains members of the team.
* Participates in special projects and assignments; provides support to Principal Manager for ad hoc projects, requests, and needs; may manage costs and budgets; may represent Principal Manager at OU or HR leadership meetings, as needed.
* Proactively identifies and elevates potential opportunities for improvement; actively engages and partner with HR colleagues to explore, influence, and implement creative solutions.

Qualifications
The essentials

* Ten years of progressive human resources experience.
* Five years of experience directly managing/supervising individuals within an organizational unit, preferably in a large matrixed organization.
* Experience successfully operating in a strategic HR Partnering role including, but not limited to, partnership with senior executives, proactive identification of people / culture related needs and opportunities, and the creation and translation of aligned people strategies into actionable, high-impact initiatives that make a measurable difference.

The preferred

* Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Industrial & Organizational Psychology, Business, or other related subject area.
* Three or more years of experience successfully operating in a strategic HR Business Partnering role with substantial and regular interaction and direct partnership with senior business executives and leadership teams.
* Experience with large-scale organizational change and restructuring initiatives, including expert level knowledge of change management methodologies.
* Graduate Degree in related field.
