A day in the life - Get ready to think big, work smart and shine bright!

* Lead and/or contribute to GTI demonstration projects focused on Distribution Energy Resources (DER) integration
* Work with internal and external resources to ensure timely project execution
* Perform power system modeling and simulation in various development tools
* Review and validate work of SCE vendors and partners
* Perform hardware-in-the-loop studies using RTDS equipment
* Serve as power system simulation subject matter expert to other groups and projects within SCE
* Ensure effective knowledge transfer to SCE operational units.
* Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
The essentials

* Bachelors degree or higher in Engineering or STEM field
* 5 years or more of engineering experience
* Experience in power system modeling and control techniques

The preferred

* Proficiency with CYME, Power Factory, PSCAD or comparable software tools
* Experience using RSCAD, RTDS, Matlab/Simulink modeling tools
* Familiarity with RTAC equipment and SCADA systems
* Experience with writing and validating test procedures for HIL environment.
* Experience with electrical or transmission system protection
* Familiarity with communication protocols: DNP3, IEEE 2030.5, IEC 61850 etc.
* A safety conscious approach to work
