General Summary

Leads the survey, planning and design coordination process for all conventional new, relocation and remodel projects including site surveys, fixture compliance, site-specific design and engineering, and criteria plan set design and specifications. Responsible for maintaining third party survey consultant assignments and schedules as well as track consultant performance.

Duties & Responsibilities

* Serves as plan owner and point of contact for remodel survey criteria plan set and technical specifications with accountability for consultant selection, scheduling and tracking to include the review and analysis of deliverable quality submitted by Remodel survey consultants. Ensures surveys are completed on time and are submitted to appropriate stakeholders by critical path deadlines.
* Manages the site survey process for conventional projects. Surveys include existing condition drawings for the space, HVAC equipment inspection, and roof condition inspection. Receives and reviews all surveys for completeness and technical information applicable to site-specific design and scope of work. Negotiates contracts and manages network of outsource vendors performing the survey work.
* Serves as plan owner and point-of-contact for conventional criteria plan set and technical specifications with accountability for architectural design (layout, image, etc.) and engineering (mechanical, electrical, plumbing, lighting, etc.), adapting plan for each stores unique footprint. Provides recommendation to Real Estate Dept regarding design feasibility of location.
* Manages the weekly fixture compliance process with Store Planning for all conventional locations. Leads meetings and facilitates feedback to Construction Dept and Real Estate Dept (e.g., when something needs to be added to the scope of work for a location).

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

* Comprehensive knowledge of construction industry, terminology, and design documents as well as the ability to read, understand and cross reference the various design disciplines (architectural, HVAC, civil, electrical, energy management system, structural, etc.) in plan sets and associated lease documents
* Working knowledge of IBC, ADA, and other applicable building codes
* Thorough knowledge of AutoCAD software, Adobe Professional, word processing, excel spreadsheet, and database applications
* Ability to function well in a fast-paced environment with a high sense of urgency and minimal supervision
* Proficient in organization and time management skills
* High level of accuracy and attention to detail
* Ability to arrive at sound decisions in a timely manner while remaining knowledgeable of how decisions impact other areas of the company
* Ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously
* Ability to effectively communicate and work with people at all levels
* Knowledge of SLM (Store Lifecycle Management) or equivalent project management tools

Work Experience / Education

Bachelors degree or technical school education preferred in the design and/or construction field, with some use of AutoCAD. Minimum of 2-4 years related experience in design and construction required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
