Job Description

Citis Consumer Business Operational Risk and Control (CBORC) organization drives consistency for addressing Operational Risk and Control issues within the Consumer Businesses (CB). CBORC fosters a culture of control, customer centricity and accountability by leading efforts to identify, anticipate and mitigate regulatory, reputational and operational risks.

The Global Head of GRC Transformation for CBORC will be driving the effort to enable a GCB GRC team to fundamentally restructure, simplify and streamline the content of our GRC/MCA program across the GCB footprint to address control design, effectiveness and monitoring strategies to create a robust, comprehensive and sustainable risk management framework. This position will be a critical strategic role to ensure the risk profiles within the Consumer businesses are fully understood and managed appropriately. As a First Line of Defense function this person will need to build trusted relationships with Business Leaders, Process Owners, other Regional and Global CBORC colleagues as well as Second and Third Line partners while establishing a credible contact for Regulators. A good understanding of the industry, direct competitors' products and services, is also valuable in order to contribute to the objectives of the business. The position also requires a thorough understanding of strategic direction of the Consumer Bank combined with a solid conceptual/practical grounding in both the function and/or area of expertise and related subject areas.

The Global Head of GRC Transformation is a key member of the CBORC leadership team.

Key Responsibilities

* Responsible for building and leading a team that will identify and manage operational risks, execution, and monitoring of controls via a suite of teams covering the following areas: GCB Architecture, GCB Standard MCA Profile content, GCB Risk Category management, Control & Monitoring Design as well as overall GRC quality assurance.
* Provide vision, strategy and leadership for strengthening the control environment for the business group supported
* Interpret and implement Operational Risk Management and Compliance Risk Management policies and work with business process owners to ensure consistent implementation within functions
* As a member of the business management team, conduct and deliver operational risk assessment results and design strong business metrics that provide line of sight to business control performance
* Integrate with Global Functions, including Independent ORM, Risk, Compliance, Audit and Legal to identify and mitigate cross business risks
* Establish and reinforce lines of responsibility to execute audits, maintain audit readiness, and manage internal reviews
* Execute a process that will deliver on the expectations set by Citis Regulators
* Full management responsibility for multiple teams, including management of headcount, budget and planning, to include duties such as performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary actions and terminations
* Identify & develop common and critical operational risk management programs that are deployed by each GCB line of business, function and region with the objective to deliver a clean year.

Qualifications:

* 15+ years of experience in financial services, including managerial experience
* Experience managing teams with broad accountability in a complex environment
* Ability to lead cross-functional teams, including technical teams in operational risk ( e.g. operational risk assessment, quality control and testing)
* Exceptional relationships and knowledge of the regulatory framework and entities effecting operational risk standards and activities
* Ability to collaborate and interact with senior leaders across the organization
* Proven track record of attracting, retaining and motivating world-class diverse talent and building diverse teams
* Ability to balance strategic priorities with tactical actions that have an impact on business financials
* Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, at a senior level - external communication/negotiation may also be necessary

Education:

Bachelors/University degree, Masters degree preferred
