Markets Business Manager - MSS Global XVA Trading

Job Description

Job Purpose:

To work as part of the NAM Markets Business Management team supporting the MSS Global XVA trading business (across asset classes)

Geographic scope includes NY, London & Singapore based traders

Establishment and delivery of key business initiatives while also providing ongoing support for core business management tasks.

Extensive liaison with multiple functions at all levels, including Risk & Controls, Market Risk, Credit Risk, Finance, Operations and Technology.

Job Background/context:

The MSS Global XVA trading business has recently been elevated to operate with a cross-asset mandate which includes Rates & Currencies, Commodities, Equities and Global Spread Products.

A dedicated Business Management team is now being established to support the unique activities of the XVA traders in close co-operation with the product Business Management teams.

The position will report to a London based manager and work closely with colleagues primarily based in New York, Buffalo, Tampa and London & Belfast.

Key Requirements and Responsibilities:

Business Administration

* Implement new and enhanced business processes to support implementation of Global XVA mandate
* Liaison with support functions building relationships with Risk & Controls, credit risk, market risk, operations, finance and technology to assist in delivering on business strategy
* Create and update effective metrics to desk heads and seniors
* Involvement in maintaining the control framework for the wider business including Managers Control Assessment (MCA), operational loss processes, investigation and developing and driving corrective actions.
* Other ad hoc administration tasks that support the activities of the business including PowerPoint presentations and excel analysis.

Control Focus

* Seek out and ensure corrective actions are implemented for control related issues across the spectrum of control functions with a goal of driving a robust, efficient and scalable business model across all traded asset classes.

Business Development & Project Management

* Participation in business-driven projects across functions, assisting in driving implementation and working closely with relevant stakeholders
* Help to provide input into and drive technology change, process and control framework enhancements
* Relay product and policy knowledge, and requirements to business and internal support functions where required
* Co-ordinate and participate actively in all relevant business initiatives as required.



Communication Skills

* Foster excellent relationships between the businesses and various support functions
* Communicate (written and oral) information within and between the businesses and support functions
* Communicate effectively within the business management teams locally and globally



Technical Capabilities

* High level of computer literacy especially in the Microsoft Office product suite, preferably including the ability to code to basic VBA macros and work proficiently with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Access.

* Gain a detailed understanding of the operations of the Global XVA trading desks and each of the asset classes within Markets,
* Working with the XVA desk will give exposure to the evolving area of counterparty credit risk management

Person Specification

Knowledge/Experience:

* Experience in financial markets either in business or support functions.
* Exposure to securities such as bonds and derivatives such as foreign exchange, interest rate products and credit derivatives would be an advantage
* Some familiarity working with and manipulating large data sets QlikView, PowerBI would be an advantage

Qualifications:

* Excellent academic background educated to a minimum of degree level or sufficient industry experience.

Skills:

* Excellent communications skills (written / verbal) at all organisational levels.
* Results/task orientated with excellent attention to detail.
* Ability to manage and prioritise effectively and resolve conflicting priorities.
* Ability to work well as part of a team and autonomously.
* Strong MS Office skills including Excel and PowerPoint.
