Responsibilities

As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for the technical implementation of the ecosystem the tools to develop applications that work with Guidewires ClaimCenter, and how it fits in with our organizational strategy. In addition to being highly technical, you should be able to play a key role in code delivery and provide hands-on delivery guidance.

* Experience developing large, complex projects on the Guidewire ClaimCenter platform
* Experience developing project components from ideation to execution
* Must develop and execute unit test cases and conduct peer code reviews in the Guidewire platform
* Ability to estimate effort needed to integrate new solutions/applications with other systems
* Ability to propose creative technical solution to business problems

Qualifications

Required

* Must have at least 3 5 years of experience in developing multi-tier web based applications using JAVA, J2EE, WSDL/XSD/XML, SOA, JAVA-Web Services and JMS or other Messaging frameworks
* Require strong design and development experience in integrating systems using Web Services technologies (JAX-RPC, JAX-WS, JAXB, Apache Axis 2 framework)
* Must have at least 5 years of experience working on Insurance industry systems
* Must have experience working with SQL Server database
* Must have 3+ years working with 3rd party platform integrations
* Must have strong working experience with Application Servers such as Web sphere, Apache Tomcat or JBOSS J2EE application containers
* Guidewire ClaimCenter implementation experience (at least 3) Preferred but not required
* Development experience with Guidewire Gosu proprietary code; 3+ years Preferred but not required
* Development experience with Guidewire APIs, methods, rules, pcfs and processes; 3+ years Preferred but not required
* Agile development practices

Preferred

* Web services (i.e. WSDL, SOAP, XML, Axis, REST, Glassfish)
* ESB tools (i.e. IIB)
* Cloud-based infrastructure and platform services experience
* Commercial P&C and Workers Comp Insurance Knowledge
* Knowledge of the Guidewire Suite of Products
* Bachelor degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related discipline.
* Possess strong customer service focus that serves as the basis for making decisions.

* Superior problem-solving and analytical skills.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills with ability to interact seamlessly with both technical and business stakeholders at all levels of an organization.
