Duties: Responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of a corrugated packaging facility. Provide oversight and leadership in the areas of safety, personnel recruitment and development, equipment preventive maintenance, operations performance management, facility housekeeping and production planning and scheduling. Responsible for mentoring and developing team members under direct supervision (four direct reports). Provide leadership and guidance on the coordination of plant activities through resources such as Plant Superintendent and Planner to ensure the manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner. Prepare long term vision and strategy for maintenance and plant supervisor teams. Work closely in conjunction with quality teams to maximize product quality, on-time delivery and ensure production employee job satisfaction. Assist in drafting updates for entire manufacturing teams working in conjunction with other departments in the plant. Manage controllable conversion cost metrics to previously established budgets that directly affect the profit and loss (P&L) in order to ensure profitable long-term growth. Develop and monitor operational forecasts and budgets to improve plant profitability. Provide oversight to waste process in order to mitigate negative impact to overall production costs.
Requirements: Employer will accept 7 years of work experience in job offered or 7 years of work experience in a manufacturing-related occupation. Experience must include: 1) 7 years of leadership experience in a production facility; 2) 5 years of maintenance management experience in a manufacturing environment; 3) Profit and Loss management experience with managing budgets and identifying cost-savings opportunities; 4) Developing statistical analyses to identify manufacturing process improvement opportunities; 5) Execution of projects such as setting goals to achieve results, prioritizing and managing tasks, and organizing systems to monitor progress and set standards; 6) Creating reports and delivering presentations; 7) Using 8D root cause analysis to implement corrective actions derived from the use of this tool; and 8) Using Six Sigma methodology to improve processes efficiency and reliability.
