Positions in this function contact customers to determine reason for payment delinquency. Negotiate and advise on collection of overdue bills and take appropriate action to recover overdue payments. Handles unresolved inquiries / issues. Responsible for developing, implementing, maintaining and managing organization policies on collection practices. May work with outside legal counsel and / or outside agencies in more complex collection cases.

You'll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.

Training will be conducted virtually from your home.

Primary Responsibilities:

* Contact customers to determine reason for payment delinquency
* Negotiate and advise on collection of overdue bills and take appropriate action to recover overdue payments
* Handle unresolved inquiries / issues
* Responsible for developing, implementing, maintaining and managing organization policies on collection practices
* May work with outside legal counsel and / or outside agencies in more complex collection cases
* This function is responsible for insurance premium collections
* Moderate work experience within own function
* Some work is completed without established procedures
* Basic tasks are completed without review by others
* Supervision / guidance is required for higher level tasks

Required Qualifications:

* High School Diploma / GED (or higher)
* 5+ years of experience in clinic insurance collection and follow up
* Experience working in a hospital, physician's office or medical clinic environment
* Strong experience using Microsoft Excel with the ability to work / manipulate spreadsheets, running reports, and working with filter functions
* Strong experience working with a Windows PC and ability to learn new and complex computer systems quickly
* Working Hours 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM Monday - Friday in Pacific Time
* If you need to enter a work site for any reason, you will be required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or similar UnitedHealth Group - approved symptom screener. When in a UnitedHealth Group building, employees are required to wear a mask in common areas. In addition, employees must comply with any state and local masking orders

Preferred Qualifications:

* Knowledge of CMS and / or Medi - CAL
* Knowledge and / or experience working within the systems Keane or Cerner
* Knowledge and / or experience working in payor portals

Colorado Residents Only: The hourly range for Colorado residents is $17.12 to $30.34.
