The Portfolio Demand Manager is responsible for leading portfolio demand management activities through all Governance stages to ensure the portfolio is able to meet the strategic and financial objectives of the organization. May directly lead or provide oversight to supporting Portfolio and Project team members when managing competing portfolio demands.

Primary Responsibilities:

* Assesses portfolio initiatives to ensure alignment with the organization's strategic objectives, Is aware of and documents cross imitative dependencies, obtains agreement from Project Governance stakeholders on Portfolio content and prioritization, ensures projects moving through the pipeline comply with governance guidelines, ensures approved project change requests are incorporated into the demand forecast.
* Coordinates resources across portfolio with Capacity Management to support individual initiative success, Monitor portfolio initiatives for internal and external factors that may impact expected deliverables. Creates and maintains demand documentation and communications relating to the aggregated portfolio needs.
* Supports the measurement and assessment of the portfolio's aggregate investment, financial performance and benefit realization
* Monitors strategic changes and portfolio alignment to strategic goals, Measures portfolio performance through key performance indicators, collaborates with PMO leadership to assess aggregate realization of initial estimations against actuals to provide recommendations for improved estimating
* Assesses portfolio for risks and collaborates with project, program, product and resource managers to create and execute mitigation plans
* Ensures understanding and buy-in from applicable stakeholders, effectively navigates and manages complex relationships
* Clearly articulates portfolio and project management methodology and governance framework, guides discussions and challenges the status quo, Articulates how the portfolio and artifacts deliver value, seeks clarification and provides alternatives, facilitates decision making across stakeholders, seeks input from others in analysis, embraces change
* Continually improves management style and documentation, Focuses on speed to value, Leverages internal network of partners to develop point of view in undefined spaces

Required Qualifications:

* Bachelor's Degree in Project Management, Organizational Management, Business, Engineering or related field
* Five (5) years of demonstrated Project Management (PM) experience
* Equivalent combination of education, experience and/or applicable military experience will be considered
* Demonstrated advanced project management skills in all areas of the PM Body of Knowledge: Integration, Scope, Time, Cost, Quality, Human Resource, Communications, Risk, and Procurement. Broad understanding of PM stages: Initiation, Planning, Execution/Control, and Close-out
* Employees are required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or a similar UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener prior to entering the work site each day, in order to keep our work sites safe. Employees must comply with any state and local masking orders. In addition, when in a UnitedHealth Group building, employees are expected to wear a mask in areas where physical distancing cannot be attained

Preferred Qualifications:

* Minimum of two (2) years of managerial, supervisory or leadership experience
* Ability to develop tools and processes applicable to the organization
* Strong financial acumen; assessing for financial value estimations and realization
* Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
* Technical writing and editing experienced
* National Career Readiness Certificate
* Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to present, persuade and provide professional presentation materials to both large and small groups
* Ability to develop and lead cross-functional teams and individuals throughout the various levels of the organization
* Excellent oral and written communication skills required including the ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external customers
* Ability to provide education, consultation and mentorship to a variety of staff from all levels of organization
* Strong time management skills and sound judgment
* Must be detail-oriented and well organized

Colorado Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $79, 700 to $142,600. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
