Positions in this function includes managing incoming calls, managing requests for services from members, providing information on available network services and transferring members as appropriate to clinical staff. Manages the referrals process, processes incoming and outgoing referrals, and authorizations. This function includes intake, notification and census roles.

This position is full-time (40 hours/week) Monday - Friday. Employees are required to work our normal business hours of 8am - 5pm. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime or weekends. Our office is located at 601 Booker Creek Corporate Center, Oldsmar, FL 34677.

Employees in this position will work on - site or virtually as an extension of the local quality and provider teams by aligning to geographical regions, medical centers and / or physician practices that manage a high volume of UHC Medicare & Retirement membership

Primary Responsibilities:
* Ensures quality for internal and external customers
* Responds to incoming calls for request, both verbal and written
* Identifies and assesses customers' needs quickly and accurately
* Solves problems systematically, using sound business judgment
* Places outgoing phone calls to complete follow-up on requests as necessary
* Consistently meets established productivity, schedule adherence, and quality standards
* Work is frequently completed without established procedures
* Works independently
* May act as a resource for others
* May coordinate others' activities
* Answers phone calls from members and providers
* Supports care managers by performing various administrative tasks
* Processes eligibility paperwork
* Ensures patient information is documented accurately
* Sets up services for members

Required Qualifications:

* High School Diploma / GED (or higher)
* 1+ years of experience in a health care customer service setting using a telephone and computer as the primary instruments to perform job duties
* Previous experience working with Microsoft Word (creating and editing documents)
* Previous experience working with Microsoft Excel (filter, sort, create and edit spreadsheets)

* You will be asked to perform this role in an office setting or other company location
* Employees are required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or a similar UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener prior to entering the work site each day, in order to keep our work sites safe. Employees must comply with any state and local masking orders. In addition, when in a UnitedHealth Group building, employees are expected to wear a mask in areas where physical distancing cannot be attained.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Healthcare or Insurance Benefits experience
* Knowledge of Medical Terminology / Coding (ICD - 10 and CPT)
* Experience in a Hospital, physician, or medical clinical environment
* Knowledge of Medicare and / or Medicaid
* Bilingual Spanish and English
