The Billing Services Representative of Insurance works directly with the Billing Services Supervisor to help track daily work activities, and ensures that all Insurance related billing occurs each month. They are also responsible for confirming that each sites batch bill is worked each month including rebilling, paper billing and follow up with Insurance to ensure payment. There is a strong emphasis on problem solving to get clams paid to minimize loss to the organization.

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

* Help the Billing Services Supervisor coordinate daily, weekly and monthly workflow to ensure optimum results.
* Ensure that all Hand billing and Batch Billing has been completed each month.
* Responsible for answering emails in the Billing Support as needed.
* Identify potential issues and opportunities with recommending end result solutions and have the ability to recognize when a problem needs to be escalated to the Billing Services Supervisor.
* Advise Pharmacy Site Managers of necessary actions and strategies to ensure payment on a high level.
* Reviews and resolves problems concerning the provision of pharmacy services which impact the ability to collect charges.
* Re-bill, transfer, adjust, and write-offs charges in ProScript System.
* Ability to interact with other departments in a professional manner.
* Ability to ensure deadlines are met.
* Open Item A/R review; Locate and monitor overdue Insurance Codes, review A/R spreadsheets, research and resolution of charges (pulling checks, verify payment info, etc.)
* Efficiently use the computer and software appropriate for this position.
* Identify potential issues and opportunities with recommending end result solutions.
* Uphold Medicare, Medicaid, and HIPAA compliance guidelines in relation to billing, collections, and PHI information.
* Provide coverage for fellow teammates when they are out of the office.
* Have the ability to be flexible with your work schedule if it is necessary to meet deadlines or deliverables as assigned by the Billing Services Supervisor, Billing Services Lead, or Executive Management. This is a requirement during End of Month Close.

Educational and Skill Requirements:

* Experience with billing and collections in the healthcare or pharmacy field.
* A strong understanding of Insurance reimbursement and AR aging.
* Prior experience in the Pharmacy field is preferred.
* Demonstrated adaptability to handle changing priorities in a fast-paced work environment.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a diverse environment on a high level. Customer Service Experience required.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office software programs, with intermediate level Excel and understanding of pivot tables required.
* High School graduate or equivalent required.
* Strong working knowledge of Insurance.
* Excellent communication skills.
