Job Description

This position is part-time; averaging less than 30 hours per work week. This position is responsible for entry level non-skilled general labor and equipment operation while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. It reports to Material Handling; part of the Warehouse Division.

The position is used in all areas of Material Handling. Positions may involve operating a high lift, forklift or battery-operated pallet jack, reading and operating a hand-held or mounted scanner, operating box machines, palletizers, case sealers, etc. and perform other duties as needed. Most positions require the ability to push, pull, carry, lift and stack boxes of product up to 100 pounds, use of hands and arms above shoulder level and walk and stand for up to 8-12 hours a day on a hard surface. Work is performed in 28-32F environments.

Must be able to work safely in a fast-paced environment; wearing all safety equipment required. Positions will be for either A (day) or B (afternoon/evening) shift. The warehouse runs 7 days a week/24 hours a day. Candidates must be willing to work shifts that are 3, 4 or 5 days including Saturday and/or Sunday. Departments and shifts are based on plant openings. Mechanical aptitude, skills and experience preferred but not required.
