Job Description

Seasonal Part Time

This position is responsible for general labor such as using a knife and hook to trim large pieces of product or involve the use of powered equipment all the while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.

Positions on Processing will involve use of a knife and hook to bone out or trim large pieces of product or involve the use of powered equipment such as saws or skinner machines.

Positions on Harvest will involve use of a knife and hook to remove the hide from the cattle, trim large pieces of product or run heavy pieces of equipment. Some positions may involve the use of powered equipment such as air knives, whizard knives, saws and skinner machines.

Positions in hides will involve the use of a knife and hook to trim hides or to operate large pieces of equipment.

Tasks

These positions could work in any department of the Processing, Harvest or hides facility. Some positions require the ability to push/pull/carry/lift 50 pounds or more. Must be willing to work in extreme hot, wet environment, temperatures ranging from 45-100 and or cold dry environment, temperatures ranging from 32-45 and stand 8-10 hours a day.

These positions work in a cold, damp or hot and humid environment and these areas have slippery walking surfaces.

This facility runs 6 days a week, Monday - Saturday.

Applicants for Seasonal Part Time are hired and work seasonally (school breaks, summer, etc.)

Some hours of work restrictions apply.

Temporary Part Time applicants must be willing and able to work A and B shift hours.

Must be willing and able to work In the following work environments;

Harvest: Includes harvest of the animal and processing offal products. Environment is wet, humid, and hot. Temperatures are seasonal and can be greater than 90 degrees.

Processing: Includes further processing of fresh beef products. Environment is wet and cold and ranges in temperature from 32-45 degrees.
