The strategic combination of Tenneco's Ride Performance business with Federal-Mogul's Motorparts business will establish a global aftermarket leader with an impressive portfolio of some of the strongest brands in the aftermarket including Monroe, Walker, Wagner, Champion, Fel-Pro and MOOG.

We are looking for an Assistant Controller for our largest Distribution Center in the region. The position is open due to internal promotion. This person will support the Plant Controller in financial reporting at the operations level.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Work with monthly accounting close. This includes journal entry preparation, completing monthly financial schedules, intercompany balancing and variance analysis.
* Facilitates the payment of all expenditures by supervising the purchasing request tasks for the location. This requires interfacing with the corporate purchasing organization and the financial Shared Service department. This also includes preparing financial analysis in support of any Capital expenditures required.
* Responsible for general ledger accounts residing on the Smyrna Plant trial balance. This includes formal reconciliation and analysis of all accounts.
* Assist in annual expense budget preparation. This includes coordinating requirements with plant management staff. Analysis versus budget and revised forecasts are also required throughout the year.
* Assist in coordination of the annual standard cost revision for the packaging operations. Interact with Tenneco plant controllers at locations feeding the distribution center product.
* Liaison with Corporate finance on all accounting and control issues.
* Assist in preparation of the annual Sarbanes Oxley documentation for the Distribution Center. This includes answering all control related questions and assuring documentation meets requirements set forth by this government mandated Act.
* Ensures compliance with global financial policies and procedures, including US GAAP and local reporting requirements.

Required Experience

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or relevant field.

Skills & Experience:

* 5 + years in a cost accounting/finance position, within a manufacturing or distribution center environment
* Proficient with SAP ERP system or other major ERP systems such as QAD/Oracle/JD Edwards.
* Basic experience with OneStream/HFM/Hyperion preferred
* Experience analyzing large volume of data using Microsoft suite.
* Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects.
