We are the Systems Security Engineering (SSE) Department and provide SSE solutions to all programs within the Naval and Area Mission Defense, Air Warfare Systems, Land Combat Systems and Air and Missile Defense Systems product lines. We are seeking a Tucson Site Lead for the SSE department. This Senior Principal Systems Security Engineer will assume the important role of second in command within the department leadership structure, reporting to the SSE department manager within the System Design and Architecture (SD&A) directorate. This individual will be responsible for interfacing with other functional leadership in Tucson, as well as program teams for SSE related activities.

Systems Security Engineering creates holistic security solutions leveraging Anti-Tamper (AT), Cyber, Software Assurance, and Supply Chain Risk Management to support Program Protection Implementation on embedded weapons systems.

U.S Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance as of day one of employment

Job Description and Key Responsibilities:

The SSE Tucson Site lead functions as a deputy to the department manager within the Systems Design and Architecture (SD&A) SSE engineering team to lead the engineering efforts on programs in a collaborative environment, which is characterized by respect for the individual, problem solving in a team setting, and results based recognition. The SSE Site lead is responsible for interfacing with all Tucson based programs with SSE content, and supporting and overseeing the needs of approximately 80 employees. The role will include responsibility for department support to program execution, EAC development and review, proposal activities, execution/ops and tracking book reviews. The individual will also be integral in hiring decisions for the SSE Tucson site team.

Leadership

This department is responsible for providing Systems Engineering technical expertise and engineering leadership for the full product lifecycle on multiple programs across the RMD portfolio. The core competencies of this department include: Design, development and implementation of Anti-Tamper solutions across programs. Design, development, and implementation of cyber solutions across programs, support to export review board and releasability process.

The Site lead will also develop and implement initiatives to increase the sharing of knowledge and delivery of value to the company by the senior staff.

Technical Expertise

He/she coordinates and collaborates with Product Line Chief Engineers, IPT (Integrated Product Team) Leads, Program management, procurement leads, design engineers and suppliers to identify and resolve issues.

Provide strong technical performance leadership by defining responsibilities, motivating employees, and demonstrating effective problem solving.

Ensure technical rigor and depth of all deliverables meeting Engineering and Program expectations and constraints

The Site Lead will be the first to review content for systems security engineering technical, cost and schedule performance for their organization and is involved with key gate reviews, proposal development, and various design reviews.

Project Management

As a part of the SSE leadership team the site lead also has responsibilities to coordinate and collaborate with the SD&A leadership supporting enterprise level issues and initiatives while supporting the department manager.

Understanding of and willingness to support development and review of EAC content for each program SSE supports.

Required Education, Skills, and Experience:

Must currently have DoD issued current Secret Security clearance.

Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or Math

A minimum of Ten (10) years of engineering experience as a technical or program leader including IPT Lead, CPT Lead, Program Manager, or Chief Engineer

A minimum of Eight (8) years of experience with a technical background of systems engineering, software and hardware design and production, and system integration

A minimum of Eight (8) years of experience developing both technical and cost proposals

A minimum of Six (6) years of experience with the Earned Value Management System (EVMS), development of budgets, task planning milestone development, budget management, or establishing indirect budgets and managing them

Experience with leadership in the implementation and business growth of SSE implementation with technical management experience overseeing technology throughout the entire life cycle

US Citizenship is required

TS/SSBI DoD Clearance preferred

Masters or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Math or related fields
