Job Description
MCVC in White Sands, NM is searching for a qualified Senior Field Engineer with high power electrical experience. This engineer will join a team that is supporting an active radar system Integration and Test site on White Sands Missile Range.
As part of the team, this engineer will work with local radar system leads to troubleshoot and solve electrical/system related problems. They will be the on-site primary for both tactical and commercial power issues, coordinating with Raytheon Technologies IPTs and/or White Sands Missile Range to identify, diagnose and correct related issues. Other responsibilities may include supporting activities to maintain the posture of compliance regarding Raytheon Technologies- and external requirements regarding safety, security and process. Responsibilities may include coordinating activities between Raytheon and Range personnel.
This position can be a Salary Grade G08 or Salary Grade G09 based on the candidate's qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and responsibility requirements for this position.
Required Skills
* Minimum of four (4) years experience in technical engineering support of field operations working with radar system software and operations in assessing and correcting faulty electrical equipment.
* Knowledge and experience with electrical power systems.
* Experience with RF Systems, power systems, troubleshooting, and reading/utilizing hardware schematics.
* Experience in maintaining and providing engineering assessment and corrective actions on faulted equipment, and installation and testing of engineering modifications/updates.
* This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance. Except in rare circumstances, only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Desired Skills
* Experience power generation and commercial power system equipment operation and maintenance.
* Extensive experience with UNIX based OS platforms (Solaris, HP-UX, LINUX etc.)
* Demonstrated knowledge of Environmental, Health and Safety guidelines Satellite Accumulation Point (SAP).
* Custodian certification Knowledge, experience regarding critical lift operations.
* Experience with systems engineering, integration and test on one or more military test ranges. Knowledge of analog/digital hardware design.
* Excellent teaming skills, multi-task, work under stress, support across multiple disciplines, and flexible to travel to support the radar.
Required Education (including Major):
Bachelors Degree in Electronics, Engineering Technology or other disciplines OR 4 - 6 years of relevant required full-time experience with an additional 4 years of full-time experience in lieu of a degree for a total of 8 to 10 years.
