Position Overview:
Operations Engineers apply advanced problem solving techniques and lean principles to optimize the manufacturing system with the goal to maximize throughput, increase efficiency and reduce cost. Operations Engineers can drive change in a factory environment and aid in shifting the culture of the business to adopt / apply lean methodologies into their daily standard work. Seeking individuals who are passionate about continuous improvement, have great customer focus, and are biased for actions that generate results. Desire to continue to grow in lean education and practices.

Responsibilities:

* Understand and map out the factory processes using Value Stream Mapping, Lean Tools, and Kaizen techniques.
* Identify throughput constraints by performing what-if scenario analysis.
* Drive factory improvement project priorities through the use of analytical tools and data driven decisions
* Coordinate factory capability needs for yield improvements
* Support/co-lead factory improvements through project justification, design and implementation
* Identify and participate in improvement projects to support constraint elimination
* Apply Lean Principles to include the use of value stream maps, line balancing, and error proofing
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

* Manufacturing process control and performance analysis
* Works independently under supervision.
* Ability to communicate with courage and conviction
* Lean principles and foundation
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Required Skills:

* Bachelors Degree in Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or a related Technical Degree and 4 years of relevant experience or Masters Degree in Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or a related Technical Degree with no experience
* Experience applying Lean Manufacturing Principles (Process Improvement and methods optimization)
* U.S Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance as of day one of employment.

Desired Skills:
* Experience with leading teams and capable of influencing without authority
* Experience with change management and change leadership
* Experience with implementing cycle time reductions and eliminating waste from factory processes
* Previous experience in a manufacturing or factory support role
* Demonstrated execution of lean applications
* Experience with Constraint Analysis and mitigation
* Experience conducting capacity assessments and assumption validation
* Experience with work cell optimization
* Experience with project management
* Experience and/or Six Sigma Certifications
* Active DOD Security Clearance

Working Environments:
This position involves direct support of manufacturing activities and requires spending significant amounts of time in and around factory areas.
This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance. Non-US citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance. The Defense Industrial Security Clearance Office (DISCO), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. Security clearance factors include, but are not limited to, allegiance to the US, foreign influence, foreign preference, criminal conduct, security violations and drug involvement.
