Department Overview

The men and women of Electric Operations ensure the delivery of safe and reliable electric service to our customers. Electric Operations (EO) is responsible for every aspect of PG&E's electric distribution and transmission operations, including planning, engineering, maintenance and construction, asset management, business planning, restoration and emergency response.

Position Summary

The Principal Program Manager will be part of Electric Operations' new Data Management and Analytics department. The mission of this team is to lead and aggressively advance Electric Operations' ability to make data-driven decisions by improving the accessibility, quality and use of information/data and maturing analytical capabilities.

The individual in this position will play a critical role in systematically improving Electric Operations ability to make data-driven decisions by developing the vision, strategy and Asset Management Plan (AMP) to guide the management of Asset Information (i.e., asset-related data). The AMP will comply with the asset management standards established by ISO 55000 and PAS 55 and will become the blueprint for how EO manages its data assets to inform the management of PG&E's physical infrastructure assets (e.g., distribution, transmission and substation assets). The AMP will be aligned to the needs of physical infrastructure asset family owners and enable them to understand asset condition, risk to their assets, and how to optimize performance with data at the center of decision-making.

The individual will also be responsible for leading the implementation and tracking of the asset information AMP, which will be executed under their direction through cross functional teams in Electric Operations, IT and Enterprise Data Management. Efforts will be aligned to Electric Operations' Electric Asset Excellence program with the overall objective of obtaining ISO 55000 and PAS 55 certification for its physical and data assets.v

Job Responsibilities

* Developing and maintaining the vision, strategy and Asset Management Plan for Asset Information consistent with ISO 55000 and PAS 55 requirements
* Leading implementation of the AMP for Asset Information through cross-functional teams
* Aligning information management efforts to support Asset Family owners, consistent with the PAS 55 asset information clause requirements
* Developing, measuring and reporting on success of the program. Collaborates across organization to ensure alignment of goals to support program.
* Partnering with Asset Family Owners for physical infrastructure assets to define, categorize, prioritize and address their AMP data-related needs.
* Identifying and maintaining strong working relationships with all strategic programs and partners
* Partnering with Regulatory and Compliance staff to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and support regulatory activities by supplying information for filings, data requests, and meeting with regulators.
* Identifying stakeholders and communicate within and outside of PG&E
* Developing and/or implementing policies and procedures
* Identifying new partners, technologies, and delivery channels
* Develops or provides significant input to PG&E leadership, other utilities with similar programs, industry and/or regulatory decision makers to influence market place and regulatory strategies impacting PG&E and its customers.

Qualifications

Minimum:

* Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience
* Job-related experience, 10 years

Desired:

* Masters Degree in job-related discipline or equivalent experience
* Deep knowledge and expertise of Electric Operations and Data Management principles
* Ability to use understanding of the business to help drive strategic decision making, and to recommend operational improvements
* Familiarity with ISO and/or PAS asset management certification programs
* Ability to manage programs, including portfolio optimization, and track delivery of critical program outcomes
* Ability to lead multiple large, complex, cross-functional projects
* Ability to create compelling business cases; based on complex business environments and; inputs
* Process management and continuous improvement experience
* Adept at addressing issues with diplomacy and tact
* Management Institute PMP-Project Management Professional certification
