Basic Job Functions:

This position is primarily responsible in leading the development and implementation of division purchasing strategies to achieve greatest long term value with materials, products and services. This role will lead/assist in negotiations and build/maintain relationships with key vendors/contracts. The position will be responsible for the management of the storeroom at the Madison, IN facility. The successful candidate should demonstrate the ability to develop and execute a strategic vision for purchasing while prioritizing and managing multiple project timelines. This candidate should have the ability to improve processes, manage independent contractor agreements, analyze buying trends, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

* Bachelors degree in Business or related field
* Positive recommendation from current supervisor/manager,
* Minimum of 2 years purchasing, or similar, experience in manufacturing environment

Preferred Qualifications:

* Advanced MS Excel and Access user who demonstrates ability to engage in data driven decision making
* Experience with MS Dynamics GP, MS Dynamics 365

This segment sells its products to steel service centers, fabricators, and manufacturers in automotive, energy, agricultural, heavy equipment, and transportation sectors. The Steel Products segment offers hollow structural section steel tubing products, electrical conduits, steel joists and joist girders, steel decks, fabricated concrete reinforcing steel products, cold finished steel products, steel fasteners, metal building systems, steel grating and expanded metal products, and wire and wire mesh products to general contractors, fabricators, distributors, and manufacturers.

This segment also engages in the piling distribution business. The Raw Materials segment produces direct reduced iron (DRI); processes ferrous and nonferrous metals; brokers ferrous and nonferrous metals, pig iron, DRI, and hot briquetted iron; supplies ferro-alloys; and processes ferrous and nonferrous scrap metal, as well as engages in the natural gas drilling operations. This segment sells its ferrous scrap to electric arc furnace steel mills and foundries for manufacturing process; and nonferrous scrap metal to aluminum can producers, secondary aluminum smelters, steel mills and other processors, and consumers of various nonferrous metals.

The company offers its products through its in-house sales forces; and internal distribution and trading companies. The company was founded in 1940 and is based in Charlotte, North Carolina.
