Northrop Grumman is seeking a Parts Control Engineer. This position will be located at our Mission Systems Sector in Baltimore, MD.
The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman rsquo;s Parts and Components Management Team within the Engineering Design Services Department. The selected candidate will work in a dynamic, customer-focused environment where he/she will interact with suppliers, internal and external customers and other design engineers.
Roles and Responsibilities
* Parts Control Engineer (PCE) Lead ensuring customer and derived application requirements are being managed
* Create Parts Management Plans (PMP) and validate new Programs PMPs
* New Part Request (NPR) approvals, and Component Drawing development as appropriate to meet program requirements
* Lead efforts to create/manage/execute, as appropriate:
* Program Part Selection Lists (PPSL)
* Bill of Material (BOM) analysis
* Destructive Physical Analysis (DPA) reports and Failure Analyses reports
* Manage the flow of new parts and documentation
* Provide the primary program interface for the Components Engineering (CE) Commodity Specialists/Parts Engineers
* Utilize project management skills to manage multiple priorities and utilize cross-functional groups to effectively meet part requirements and program deadlines
* Manage program DMS issues
* Gate keeper for all components used on the program ensuring application authenticity, and traceability (Application Class)
Qualification
Basic Qualifications
* Bachelor rsquo;s Degree in a STEM related/Engineering field and 9 years of related experience in an Engineering or Parts related field; 7 years or related experience with a Masters rsquo; Degree in related field; 4 years of related experience with a PhD.
* Be able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)
* Previous leadership amp; teamwork capabilities, interpersonal communication skills, and activities
* Excellent presentation and writing/communication skills
* Self-motivated and interested in working in a team environment
* Experience in developing and delivering presentations and leading small groups
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience in working with electronic and mechanical components
* Experience in developing Electronic Part specifications, particularly using military or Industry requirements and specifications
* Mastery of ISE capabilities pertaining to components, reports and data mining
* Experience with Team Center
