Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Sr. Principle Engineer - Matl Process - NDI to join our team of qualified diverse individuals. This position will be located in Palmdale, CA within the Palmdale Aircraft Integration Center of Excellence (PAICoE) organization.

The selected candidate will be responsible for analyzing, researching, and developing materials and their related application processes for use in engineering design of and/or application in structures, systems and subsystems.

The candidate will apply principles of chemistry, physics, and material science to investigate material issues and provide solutions.

The candidate will work in a team environment with other engineering organization performing detailed technical reviews of drawings, specifications and manufacturing plans.

The candidate will support Non-Destructive Inspection (NDI) of both composites and metallic structures and is familiar with, but not limited to, Ultrasonic scanning, A-Scan, C-Scan, eddy current, dye penetrant inspection. Will be reviewing inspection results and making evaluations on component integrity and/or recommended repairs.

Qualification

Basic Qualifications:
* Bachelor 39;s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Material Science or other STEM degree with 9 years of experience or a Master rsquo;s in Engineering, Chemistry, Material Science or other STEM degree with 7 years of experience.
* Experience working with composite pre-pregs, honeycombs, and adhesive materials; Fabrication, assembly, and repair processes for aircraft composite structures.
* Experience with NDI Process and Procedures for composite and metallic aerospace structures
* This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret or Top Secret Clearance as well as Program Special access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Secret or Top Secret clearance preferred
* Experience preparing and presenting oral and written reports
* Experience with military aircraft
