Aeronautics Systems sector is seeking an Automation/Robotics Software Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverseindividuals. This position is located in Palmdale, CA.

The Northrop Grumman Tooling team specializing in automated tooling as well as hard tooling has an immediate need for a Automation/Robotics Software Engineer. As an integral part of the team, the successful candidate will be an active participant in the design, procurement, fabrication, assembly, integration, startup, and commissioning of very large scale automated aerospace assembly systems. The candidate will support custom software for the automated assembly systems with primary focus on trouble shooting and finding creative solutions in a production environment, control system development, including microprocessor-based servo motion control, analog and digital sensors, network communications, and graphical user interfaces (GUI).

The Robotics Software Engineer is the key contributor as they will create and maintain already installed systems, deploy requested changes or upgrades, and work directly with the Production to troubleshoot and solve critical system problems in a timely manner.

Qualification

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor rsquo;s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science and 5+ years rsquo; of experience with full software life cycle, including specification, design, implementation, integration, and debugging (3 years rsquo; experience with a Masters)
- Knowledge of Siemens and/or AllenBradley (AB)
- Minimum 2 years rsquo; experience programming in C/C++
- Familiarity with a structured coding environment for automated assembly systems and participation which involve software and hardware (i.e. robotics)
- Hands-on experience with troubleshooting issues and finding solutions in a production environment
- Ability to program applications to run on the Windows Operating System.
- Familiar with Microsoft Office, development for Graphical user interfaces (GUI), and Network administration and TCP/IP configuration
- Strong written communication skills, excellent troubleshooting and debugging skills; the ability to learn and apply new concepts quickly and be a team player
- DOD Secret Clearance with investigation within the past 5 years

Preferred Qualifications:
bull; Experience in automated aerospace or manufacturing assembly systems
bull; Experience in Automated Drilling programing with Siemens
