Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Senior Principal Electrical Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position is a key team member supporting the development of the Physical Security System (PSS) for the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program (Minuteman III ICBM replacement) development contract.

The successful applicant will:

* Provide subject matter expertise on Physical Security System design and development, concept of operation, user interface, testing, deployment, and maintenance
* Ensure PSS design meets program specific requirements and Air Force and DoD general requirements, policies and procedures for security of nuclear weapons
* Conduct studies and analyses of the Physical Security system and ancillary components
* Develop models of the Physical Security system components
* In addition to integrating with the PSS team, interface with other elements, and the system and segment level teams
* Apply the principles of engineering to design components and systems using applicable standards and specifications
* Support all phases of the systems lifecycle including concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal
* Maintain design documentation and follow configuration management requirements

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Qualification

Basic qualifications:

* Bachelor of Science in a STEM(Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline with minimum 9 years experience, or 7 years experience with Master's of Science in a STEM(Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) disciplin; 4 years with a PhD
* Active Secret Clearance with a recent (5 yr) background investigation

Preferred Qualifications:

* Familiarity with Access Control or Intrusion Detection systems
* Active Top Secret Clearance
