Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systemshas an opening for a Principal SystemsEngineer or Sr. Principal System Engineer to join our team of qualified,diverse individuals. This position will be located in Melbourne, Florida.

Essential Functions:

* Performs technical planning, system integration,verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability andeffectiveness analyses for total systems

* Analyses are performed at all levels of total system productto include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation,maintenance, and disposal

* Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer orproduct requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical,schedule, and cost constraints

* Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detailtrade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies totranslate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications

The successful candidate is expected to apply their expertise andknowledge of aircraft systems for development and analysis of complex systemrequirements and usage scenarios. Job responsibilities include decomposing highlevel requirements into systems and sub-systems specifications. Ensuringrequirements are understandable and testable.

Qualification

Basic Qualifications for a Principal System Engineer:

* Bachelors degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of systems engineering experience OR

* Masters degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 3 years of systems engineering experience OR

* PhD degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline and 0 years of experience in systems engineering

* Experience in technical engineering requirements analysis, development, verification, and/or validation using DOORS or similar requirements management tool sets

* This position requires an active and in-scope (investigation within 5 years) DoD Secret level security clearance and the ability to obtain and maintain special program access (PAR) as required by the program to meet business objectives

Preferred Qualifications for Principal Systems Engineer:

* Experience leading and coordinating small-sized technical teams employing the Agile development process

* Experience with direct interface and collaboration with customer representatives

* Experience as DOORS administrator capable of creating/employing advanced scripts

Basic Qualifications for Sr. Principal Systems Engineer:

* Bachelors degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline and a minimum of 9 years of systems engineering experience OR

* Masters degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline and a minimum of 7 years of systems engineering experience OR

* PhD degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline and a minimum of 4 years of experience in systems engineering

* Experience in technical engineering requirements analysis, development, verification, and/or validation using DOORS or similar requirements management tool sets
